Job Description

Job Overview

The Social Media Strategist brings the Texas REALTORS® brand to life across social platforms through storytelling, community engagement, and content built to perform for reach and member value. This role sits within the Marketing Communications team and owns organic social strategy, growing an engaged community of REALTOR® members and, where relevant, the consumers they serve. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker and community builder who understands what makes real estate professionals stop scrolling and engage.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing Technology, this role partners closely with the Communications, Professional Development, Events, Legal, and Advocacy teams to ensure social content reflects the Texas REALTORS® brand promise while driving meaningful engagement and member awareness. Successful candidates are naturally curious, plugged into platform and industry trends and are highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about building community through content that is approachable, credible, and trusted.

This role is based in Texas and requires participation in some in-person meetings and events.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media strategies primarily across LinkedIn, Meta (Instagram/Facebook), and TikTok to drive member awareness, engagement, and organizational relevance.
  • Analyze audience behavior and platform data using tools like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, and Google Analytics to optimize content performance across the member engagement funnel (Awareness → Engagement → Adoption → Advocacy/Retention).
  • Identify opportunities to increase reach, engagement, and relevance.
  • Create compelling social-first content built around the association's activities, translating offerings into social assets alongside the editorial and creative teams.
  • Collaborate closely across the organization to turn webinars, research, advocacy wins, and events into engaging social storytelling.
  • Lead and produce dynamic, real-time content, including written posts, photos, video, Reels, and member-driven content, to spotlight REALTOR® member stories, milestones, and advocacy outcomes.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to turn social engagement into measurable outcomes: webinar attendance, event registration, MarketViewer/RPR adoption, video views, and membership engagement.
  • Monitor comments, DMs, tags, and conversations to ensure timely, on-brand engagement with members and the public.
  • Build relationships with members and boost user-generated content and authentic member stories.
  • Listen and share member sentiment, feedback, and conversations relevant to the brand.
  • Establish, track, and report on KPIs across paid and organic social tactics, tied to survey baselines.
  • Develop and present actionable insights and recommendations based on performance data to the Marketing Communications team and leadership.
  • Define and lead an influencer strategy focused on brokers and industry leaders who align with the Texas REALTORS® brand, establishing a process for engaging and managing these creator relationships.

Key Skills

  • Proficiency with social platforms: LinkedIn, Meta (Instagram/Facebook), TikTok — with working familiarity with X as secondary/monitoring channel.
  • Analytics & listening: Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Hootsuite.
  • Paid & organic: Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
  • Core competencies: content strategy, content production, community growth, data reporting, copywriting with correct REALTOR® trademark usage and AP/brand style.

Requirements

  • Strong creative eye with experience capturing and editing social-first photo and video content, including at live events.
